Born in New Orleans, James Varnado moved to the Gulf Coast of Florida in 2006. The locally known and respected drummer has years of performance under his belt. Varnado has performed and toured with George Porter Jr (The Meters), Charmaine Neville (Neville Bros Family), Tab Benoit, Mem Shannon Blues Band, Jon Cleary, Dickey Betts (of the Allman Brothers), The Dixie Cups (Do Wop), and shared the stage with various local groups.

Johnny Barker and Sergae Glushenkov join Varnado for this eclectic spinning jazzy blues jam. Barker is a bass player and founding member of “The JBP”, also known as The Johnny Barker Project. Sergae Glushenkov is a Ukrainian-born pianist who is currently a conductor at Southside Primary School.

The trio offers the audience something a little more like a variety show, leading the jam with opening songs and welcoming a rotation of other talented local guest musicians to join the stage. A jam session guaranteed to bring sound surprises that you will not hear anywhere else. No cover.
