Hot-as-Hell Girl Rock Group From Japan Releases Single A ray of light May 11. The new track kicks off what could be a big year for the heavy metal quintet, as they also announced their first concert in the United States in July.
The new song begins with the powerful screams of lead singer mayu, then suddenly shifts to a clear melodic tone for the chorus. This style clash would be brutal for any other singer, but mayu handles it with ease. All the while, guitarists Hazuki and Saki effortlessly hammer out incredibly heavy riffs. Plus, the beat and mix demonstrate expertise even above their 2020 debut. OIRAN.
In the music video, the ladies sway between beams of light that illuminate their new black and white outfits. Close-ups of the instruments reveal the technical prowess of the members. The group seems confident and ready for their next big step.
NEMOPHILA plays its first show in the United States on July 1 at the world-renowned Whiskey a Go Go venue in Hollywood, California. They’ll stand on the same stage as before The Doors, Led Zeppelin, KISS, Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Linkin Park, and so many other rock legends. Even though NEMOPHILA was already planning to fly over in October for Aftershock, apparently they couldn’t wait to shake up America.
