Disney Princess Lea Salonga on UK tour in 2022

MUSICAL theater royalty and double Disney princess Lea Salonga arrive in Southampton with her all-new Dream Again tour in 2022.

Lea Salonga won her theatrical crown at just 18 when she created the role of Kim in the epic musical Miss Saigon in the West End and then on Broadway. She went on to become the first actress of Asian origin to play both Eponine and Fantine in Les Misérables on Broadway.

Now, the award-winning Olivier and Tony star returns to the country that launched his career on the international stage with a new nine-city tour of the UK – including a performance at the Mayflower Theater on Sunday, June 19, 2022.

Lea Salonga: Dream Again follows the release of Lea’s single of the same name last year.

The Dream Again tour will also celebrate the 30th anniversary of the recording of Disney’s iconic love song A Whole New World as Princess Jasmine in Aladdin in 1992. Younger fans will also recognize Lea’s perfect tones in as the singing voice of Fa Mulan in Mulan and Mulan. II.

Before the concert tour, Lea said: “I owe the British public and fans a lot of my success, after they took me to heart as Kim in Miss Saigon, which I will always be very fond of. grateful.”

Joining Lea for the first time on stage in the UK will be her brother, conductor and orchestrator Gerard Salonga, as musical director. Gerard is the resident conductor of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and former assistant conductor of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.

Off the stage, Lea is a judge on the Filipino version of The Voice and has sold 19 million albums worldwide, making her one of the best-selling Filipino artists of all time.

Having previously performed for the Queen, Diana, the Princess of Wales and former US Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, Lea has many accolades including Grammy Nomination, Olivier, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and a theater. World award among others.
